Those who were born in the 90's will understand me very well: When we talk about Sabrina the teenage witch, we first imagine that sitcom they gave on Nickelodeon, where they showed a young woman who discovers at 16 that she was a witch (well, half witch, half human), where she had to learn to live with her powers while having problems with a common teenager in a high school, which conquered several people, including the one who is writing this review. But when they announced "The Hidden World of Sabrina" I couldn't get my mind off how they were going to transform an entertaining 90 'sitcom into something like "American Horror Story" in its best seasons. It was going to be dark, to such a level that Netflix in its mini introduction to the series puts verbatim "following the line of Rosemary's baby and The Exorcist."I must say that I was surprised, even more so when I learned that this new story transformed into a series is inspired by the Archie Horror comic "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", by the same creators of the comics inspired by the "Riverdale" series. Note that the director of this series is the same one who writes for the Riverdale series, and po, uncle Netflix, at least one crossover, please) making it even more interesting. The series begins fully with knowing more about Sabrina's story, with a touch of terror and comedy that make it perfect, the 50-odd minutes that a chapter lasts fly by, wanting to get even more into this dark but entertaining story. In its photography quality, the series took extremely good care of that reference, most of the scenes have a detail where everything else except the most important events on the scene is out of focus, giving it a more terrifying and disturbing touch. As a last detail, Kiernan Shipka, the 18-year-old actress who plays Sabrina Spellman, from 1 to 10, is an 11 in her acting quality, she did not disappoint in “Mad Men”, and she will not disappoint if you see this new adaptation, I loved it.
